Frequently asked questions

On our FAQ page we have tried to answer the 5 most important questions. If you still haven’t found the right answer to your question, please contact us. You are welcome to do this by phone or e-mail. We will then take the time to answer all your questions professionally.

What does a prosthesis cost?

The price depends on the supply variant basic, classic and individual. You can find the different variants under Service Fabrication. In order for us to be able to prepare a cost estimate for you, we need 3 meaningful photos of your residual limb situation, which you can send us by e-mail.

Who pays for the prosthesis?

Normally, most health insurance companies cover the costs of a fitting. If this is not the case in special cases, the fitting must be paid for out of pocket.

What is the service life of a prosthesis?

This depends on the type of handling, but usually between 2 to 4 years. However, warranty coverage is only 6 months.

How do I get a prosthesis?

First, you should stop by for a consultation. You can also have this consultation by phone. We will then take a look at your residual limb situation in order to work out a perfect fitting for you. The subsequent cost estimate will be sent to your health insurance company with a prescription. There we will decide which costs and which fitting option will be covered for you. After we have received the approval of the health insurance company, we will contact you and arrange an appointment for the first plaster cast.

How do I care for my prosthesis?

Use only water or ultrasonic gel to put on and take off a prosthesis. Please do not use skin creams or lubricants, as these contain preservatives that could damage the material. Short boiling in boiling water is recommended to clean the prosthesis from skin oils and other bacteria – however, this should only be done under supervision and should not take longer than 20 minutes. Every evening, the prosthesis can be cleaned with skin neutral soap and water. Please avoid harsh chemicals such as acetone, benzine or superglue.

What happens if my prosthesis is damaged?

Send us pictures of the broken area. Based on these pictures, we will decide whether it is a warranty case or self-inflicted damage. We will always try to repair the prosthesis if the damage is within economically acceptable limits. Otherwise, we would contact you to discuss the further course of action.
